DropMix is an interactive music gaming experience, where players use chip-enabled sound cards and an app to blend hit songs from award-winning artists like Afrojack, Bruno Mars, The Chainsmokers, Ed Sheeran, The Jackson 5, Run-D.M.C. and more to create new and unique mixes no prior music-mixing skills required.

By combining Harmonixs expertise in music gaming and Hasbros expertise in face-to-face gaming and digital/physical integration, we collaborated to create an all-new, and-mind blowing, way to play music, said Sarah Handley, Vice President, Global Brand Strategy and Marketing at Hasbro.

Hundreds of SXSW partygoers were among the first to test out the new game for themselves last week during Mashables annual MashBash in Austin.

Pairs of players faced off to try their hand at the game, which is made in partnership with the same creators who made Rock Band and Dance Central. Each player uses cards to layer in new beats and melodies while trying to take control of the mix and conquer their opponent.

Its so innovative, said Syracuse resident Kate Beckman, who was watching friends play the game.

During the night partygoers flocked to the DropMix stations throughout the Mashable House, eager to play it for themselves.

I love the card tech of it thats really up and coming right now, said Caitlin Shewbrooks, also of Syracuse.

For those looking for extra inspiration, Afrojack was on hand to provide some real-life mixing expertise.

Testing out the game was a special treat exclusive to those who stopped by the Mashable-hosted MashBash Sunday night. DropMix will officially hit the market globally at major toy and gaming retailers in September.

I loved playing it, said Michael Galbe of New York. It looks really cool and is awesome to play at a party.
